About Stack

Stack rents reusable plastic moving bins, dollies, and labels to people and businesses moving in major markets across the United States.

We drop the bins at your door, you pack them, you move, and we come pick them up. That’s the whole business. We don’t carry your couch down three flights of stairs and we don’t sell you a flat-pack of cardboard you’ll break down and shove into a recycling bin two weeks later. We bring you boxes that already work, and then we take them back.

Moving is miserable. Everybody knows this. The part nobody talks about is how much of the misery is self-inflicted by the box: you drive to a hardware store, buy flattened cardboard, assemble it, tape it, watch the bottom give out on the stairs, and then you own forty empty boxes you have to get rid of. Stack exists to delete that entire errand. We’re the unsexy backbone of the move: the part that just shows up and works, so you can go argue with your partner about the couch instead.

How Stack works

You order online

You pick your bin count and your delivery date.

We deliver

A local team brings the bins, the dollies, and the labels to your address, door-to-door. “Door-to-door” means the nearest accessible point: your driveway, your garage, the door of your unit. Our drivers don’t carry them inside and don’t stack them in your bedroom. Somebody 18 or older has to be there to sign.

You pack

The bins arrive pre-assembled. No tape, no folding, no diagram. The lids interlock, so a closed bin stays closed and the bins stack square on a dolly instead of pyramiding into a slow-motion collapse.

You move

Or your movers move. Either way the bins ride better than cardboard, because they don’t buckle when they’re wet and they don’t split when they’re full.

We pick up

Standard rental runs one week. If your move slips — and moves slip — you extend it.

The bin itself

27 by 17 inches across the top, 24.5 by 14.5 at the bottom, 13 inches tall. Roughly what you’d fit in one large cardboard box. The taper is why they nest flat on our trucks and why we can bring you a lot of them at once. Every bin goes out cleaned and sanitized between moves.

Why reusable beats cardboard

Cardboard sucks. It’s a single-use product doing a job that repeats.

Reusable, not disposable

A Stack bin gets used, cleaned, and used again. A cardboard box gets used once and thrown out.

Reuse compounds. Disposal doesn’t.

Hundreds of moves per bin

Stack’s own estimate is that a single bin cycles through hundreds of moves over its life before it’s retired. By our count, over 500.

We publish that as our estimate, not as an audited figure.

Recycled plastic, made in the USA

The bins are made in the United States from recycled plastic. When one finally wears out, it’s still plastic. It goes back into the stream it came from.

What is Stack?

How do Stack bins work?

You order online, we deliver to your address, you pack, and we collect the bins after your move. The standard rental period is one week and can be extended. The bins arrive pre-assembled with interlocking lids, so there’s no tape and no assembly.

Does Stack move my belongings?

No. Stack provides bins and dollies only. We don’t load, drive, or unload. If you need a moving crew, we can point you to local moving partners.

What are the bins made of?

Recycled plastic, manufactured in the United States. Each bin measures 27″ x 17″ at the top, 24.5″ x 14.5″ at the bottom, and 13″ tall. That’s about the capacity of one large cardboard box.

Are the bins cleaned between moves?

Yes. Every bin is cleaned and sanitized between every move.

How is this different from buying cardboard boxes?

Cardboard has to be bought, assembled, taped, and then disposed of. Stack bins show up ready to pack, hold their shape when they’re full, and leave when you’re done. You’re renting the container instead of owning the aftermath.
